MyCaddyMan · iOS
Privacy Policy
MyCaddyMan ("the app") is a golf assistant developed by Flow State Technologies ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles and why. We built MyCaddyMan to give you a number and get out of the way — and we took the same approach to your data.
1What we collect
MyCaddyMan is designed to collect as little as possible. Depending on the features you use, this may include:
- Location data. When you grant permission, the app accesses your device location to calculate distances to course features during a round. See Location data.
- Round and scoring information you enter. Scores, courses, and notes you record are stored so the app can show them back to you. [CONFIRM whether this stays on-device only or syncs to iCloud/a server.]
- Diagnostic & usage data. [CONFIRM: does the app collect crash logs or analytics? If yes, name the tool — e.g. Apple's built-in crash reporting, Firebase, TelemetryDeck. If no, say "We do not collect analytics or usage tracking."]
- Purchase information. [CONFIRM: if the app has in-app purchases or a subscription, note that purchases are handled by Apple and we do not receive your payment details. If none, delete this line.]
We do not ask for your name, email, or a login unless a feature you choose to use requires it. [CONFIRM.]
2How we use it
We use the information above only to make the app work for you: to calculate and display distances, to save and show the rounds you record, and to diagnose crashes and improve reliability. We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not run third-party ads in the app. [CONFIRM — remove if you do serve ads, and describe them instead.]
3Location data
Distances are the core of MyCaddyMan, and they depend on your location. When you allow location access, the app reads your position to compute yardages to course features while you play.
- You control access through the standard iOS location permission, and can set it to "While Using the App."
- [CONFIRM: state clearly whether location is processed only on the device, or transmitted anywhere. If it never leaves the phone, say so plainly — it's the strongest privacy statement you can make and reviewers like to see it.]
- You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. The app's distance features won't work without it.
4Sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Information may be handled by service providers only to the limited extent needed to run the app — for example [CONFIRM: Apple, for app distribution and any crash reporting; your analytics provider, if any]. Those providers act on our instructions and only for the purposes described here.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or others.
5Storage & retention
[CONFIRM based on your build:] Round and scoring data you enter is stored [on your device / in your private iCloud account] and remains until you delete it or remove the app. Any diagnostic data is retained only as long as needed to investigate issues. [If you operate any server storage, describe where data lives and for how long.]
6Your choices
- Location: grant or revoke anytime in iOS Settings.
- Your recorded data: delete individual rounds in the app, or remove all app data by deleting the app. [Adjust to match how deletion actually works.]
- Diagnostics: you can turn off sharing of analytics/diagnostics with developers in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
7Children's privacy
MyCaddyMan is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will address it.
8Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information the app handles, including relying on the security protections built into iOS. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9Third-party services
[CONFIRM and list only what you actually use.] The app relies on Apple for distribution and system services. If the app uses any mapping, analytics, or crash-reporting service, name it here and link to its privacy policy so users can review how that provider handles data.
10Regional privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to certain processing (for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU/UK GDPR). Because MyCaddyMan [CONFIRM: keeps your data on your device / collects very little], most of these rights you can exercise directly by managing or deleting the app's data. To make a request or ask a question, use the contact details below.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes will be reflected in the app or its App Store listing.
